Inspection and reportingI cover the whole of Whiteley, including the newer streets at North Whiteley, for the full range of domestic electrical work. Sockets and lighting added or replaced, extractor fans and outside power. A cooker or shower circuit. And dedicated circuits for a car charger or a home office. When something goes wrong — a breaker that trips, a dead socket, lights that flicker — I trace the cause rather than guess at it. Consumer unit changes, EICRs for buyers, sellers and landlords, and rewiring are all part of the work too.
In houses this recent the job is usually adding something the house was not built with, rather than putting right something that has failed. Either way you get one electrician, a price agreed in advance, and a certificate for the work. Quotes are free.
A frequent request here, since a lot of Whiteley houses have a drive or garage. The charger is the visible part; the work behind it decides the price. It needs a circuit of its own, so the questions are whether the board has room and whether the incoming supply has capacity for a car charging alongside everything else. The cable route matters too — a board in the garage makes a short run — and the network operator has to be told, which I take care of.
Building work is the other half of the diary. An extension, a loft conversion or a garage being turned into a room is best wired while the walls are still open. We agree where the sockets and lights go first, around where the furniture will actually end up, and that early planning is what keeps the cost down later. A garden office is the same job a bit further out, on its own protected circuit sized for the run.
Outside the house, weatherproof sockets, path and drive lighting and a supply for a hot tub are all regular requests, and all need the right protection rather than an indoor fitting pressed into service.
Describe it and I’ll tell you. After 15 years I’m mostly useful for separating what matters now from what doesn’t, and for saying when the honest answer is that nothing needs doing at all. Free quote, and you decide what happens next. Let’s have a chat.

Questions
In practice, yes. The car needs to park on your own land beside the charger. A cable run across the pavement to a car on the road is not a safe answer, and is generally not allowed without the council agreeing to it.
Not necessarily. It needs a spare way, or room for a small separate unit alongside it, and the incoming supply needs enough capacity. I check both before giving you a price.
Tell me where the board is and where the car parks, and I will come back to you.
