For landlordsThe bread and butter here is domestic and small commercial work. Finding the fault behind a circuit that keeps tripping. Repairing or replacing sockets, switches and light fittings. Changing a consumer unit that is past its useful life. And EICRs for owners, buyers and landlords. Extra circuits are the other regular request — an outside socket, garden lighting, a cooker or shower supply, a charge point — along with partial and full rewires on the older housing.
It is one electrician doing the whole job: a proper look first, a fixed price before anything is disturbed, and the certificate at the end. Coming to quote costs nothing.
Fareham has a ring of places around it that people identify with just as strongly as the town itself — Portchester, Stubbington, Titchfield, Park Gate, Whiteley. Say whichever you like and I will know where you mean. From Eastleigh it is a straightforward run along the M27, which makes it an easy area to plan work in.
A kitchen or bathroom refit is the best moment to get electrical work right, because the walls are open anyway. In a kitchen that usually means the cooker circuit, sockets where the new worktops actually are, and supplies for appliances moving position. In a bathroom it is the lighting, the extractor fan and anything like a heated towel rail — and bathrooms have rules about what can go where, so positions are worth agreeing before the tiler starts. If a fitter is running the project, I am happy to work to their programme.
Building work is a regular reason to call. An extension or loft conversion is best wired before the walls are closed up, with the socket and lighting positions agreed early so nothing has to be chased in afterwards. It’s also the right time to check the consumer unit has the room and protection for the new circuits. Out in the garden it’s the same job at a distance: a garage, workshop or garden office wants a supply of its own, sized for the run.
Outdoor power comes up often too. A socket by the patio, lighting along a path, a supply for a hot tub, or an EV charge point on the drive. Ordinary work still fills most weeks though: sockets, lights, switches, fans and repairs.
Say so when you get in touch. Tell me what you’re planning and I’ll explain what it means. With 15 years behind me it doesn’t take long to work out what the job really needs, what’s optional, and what it costs done properly, so you can decide before anyone lifts a floorboard. Let’s have a chat.
