Tracing faultsBursledon covers more ground than people expect, from Old Bursledon down by the river to Lowford and the roads running up towards Hedge End, and I cover all of it. The work is the usual domestic range. Fault finding when something trips or dies. Sockets, switches and light fittings replaced, and extractor fans fitted. Consumer unit changes, EICRs and landlord certificates. Extra circuits for kitchens, showers and chargers, and rewiring where an older house has reached that point.
Plenty of houses across Bursledon have been extended at some stage, so new work often has to meet older circuits — which is a good reason to test first and price afterwards. Quotes are free, the price is agreed before anything starts, and the certificate comes with the job.
A job where the order of events matters: the floor layer can put the mat down, but the supply, the thermostat and the testing are electrical work. A small bathroom mat may run from a fused connection while a larger floor needs its own circuit. The critical part is testing the element before the tiles go down — damage is simple to deal with then, and expensive afterwards.
Outdoor power is a regular job here: a socket by the back door, lighting across a garden or drive, a supply for a shed. It all needs weatherproof fittings and RCD protection. A garage, workshop or garden office normally needs its own circuit rather than a lead run out of a window, sized for the distance and for what will be used there.
If an EV charge point is on the list, it is worth checking the board and the incoming supply at the same time as any other work, rather than finding out later that the spare capacity has gone.
Say so and we’ll work through it together. Tell me what you’re planning and I’ll explain what it means for the house. After 15 years I can usually spot what’s worth doing while access is easy, and what’s better left alone. Straight explanation, free quote. Let’s have a chat.

Questions
They can lay it. Connecting it to your supply and the thermostat is electrical work that should be tested and certified, and the mat needs testing before the tiles go down, so it is worth arranging both at the same time.
Tell me what is planned and when the floor goes down, and I will come back to you.
